About our Council

The San Francisco Bay Area Council, BSA (SFBAC) serves most of San Francisco and Alameda Counties in support of more than 300 local Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, Explorer Posts & Sea Scout Ships. It includes five area districts:  Golden Gate District serves San Francisco and Daly City; Peralta District serves Oakland and Emeryville; Tres Ranchos District serves San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley and Hayward; Mission Peak District serves Union City, Fremont and Newark; and Twin Valley District serves Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and Sunol.

The Council service center is located on Davis Street in San Leandro, CA; the modern building is known as the Youth Leadership Training Center (YLTC). This facility features Council professional offices and meeting rooms as well as the East Bay Scout Shop and a 32-foot climbing wall.

The Council maintains three camp properties:  Camp Royaneh, situated in the coastal redwood forests near Cazadero, CA and the Russian River resorts of Sonoma County; Rancho Los Mochos Scout Camp, nestled high in the hills of southeastern Alameda County above Livermore, CA; and Wente Scout Reservation with it's own 80-acre lake, located in the rolling hills east of Willits, CA in central Mendocino County.
